TYPES OF FOUNDATION (are you using the right foundation?)
Are you sure you are using the right kind of foundation for your skin type? Applying foundation is one of the basic steps in doing your makeup, so finding out the best kind of foundation for your skin is important. Outside starting your makeup on a good base, the way the foundation reacts with your skin is another vital part. Foundations comes in different formula's;
Liquid Makeup Foundation
This happens to be the most popular kind of foundation among beauty lovers, easy to apply and can be found visually every makeup store. This foundation can come in different finish from matte to dewy and depending on the ingredient, this foundation coverage can go from light to full. Liquid foundation can be used by both dry, oily and combination skin. However, liquid foundation is not the best choice for people with oily skin because most liquid foundation is oil based.
Cream Foundation
Cream foundations are suitable for mature skin and also works great for dry skin. Cream foundation should be avoided by those with oilier skins b some brands have started producing cream-to-powder foundations which dries to a matte finish. Cream foundations have quite a heavy coverage and lasts longer than most types of foundation once set with powder. They always comes in pot and sometimes sticks.
Tinted Foundation
Tinted foundation is not a typical foundation, it is more of a moisturizer with color. They give a sheer amount of coverage and its light weight. Tinted foundation is good for people with dry skin and aged skin as well.
Mineral Powder Foundation
They provide light to medium coverage and they come in pressed and loose forms. Mineral powder foundation have better wearability and interact better with the skin, its very suitable for people with sensitive skin.
Cream to Powder Foundation
As the name implies, this kind of foundation goes from cream form to a powder finish when transferred to the skin. They usually have a mini-matte to a matte finish and suitable for people with oily skin.
BB Cream
BB creams (blemish balm cream) are kinds of foundation loaded with skin care benefits and originally from South Korea. They have light coverage and are great for people with troubled skin. They come with good amount of sunscreen,anti-aging and moisturizer.
CC Cream
CC creams ( color correcting cream) provides a more sheerer coverage than a BB cream. When you need a better coverage with a the benefit of BB cream, you go for a CC cream.
Airbrush Foundation
This foundation is mostly used by professional makeup artist. Its applied with an airbrush gun to the skin for a smooth and long lasting application. The airbrush compressor has its own special foundation which is usually silicon or water based. Airbrush foundation can stay all day with a need for touch-ups.
